The role
Responsible to the Income Manager for processing miscellaneous income due to the Council, together with collection and recovery of monies due for miscellaneous sundry debts and to provide support to all members of the Income Team. The role also involves liaising with members of the public, internal departments and external agencies.
Main responsibilities
Undertake a range of specialist tasks including:
Kiosk cashing up functions
Back office cashiering
Sundry debtor system and administration maintenance
Direct debit maintenance and collection
Leasehold domestic properties, industrial units and shops administration maintenance
Income queries, internal and external and statistics
Corporate debt, recovery and statistics
Essential qualifications/experience
Use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Cashiering or banking experience
GCSE grade C or above including English language and Maths or equivalent
Customer service experience
Revenues or Accountancy environment or similar
Work under pressure alone or part of a team

Use of tracing facilities
Knowledge of council procedures for leasehold domestic/ commercial properties
Knowledge of housing benefits and/or associated agencies
Maintenance of statistical data

An on-site Occupational Health Advisor. We have an occupational health service provided by East Kent Hospitals University Foundation NHS Trust. The service is delivered by a team of health professionals who specialise in occupational medicine and deal with the relationship between your work and your health. Occupational Health also works with us to resolve any issues in the workplace and also to ensure that well-being at work is maintained.
