The role

DSO Building Maintenance provides a repairs and maintenance service to the council’s tenants. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Multi Traders who may have some of the following skills, kitchen installations, decorating, plastering, flooring, fencing and ground work, brickwork and basic plumbing.

Main responsibilities

Undertake a range of specialist tasks including:

A full range of carpentry repairs, maintenance and installation work:

  • Kitchen cupboard and work tops
  • Make and fit internal and external door and frames and fit relevant furniture
  • Floor/ ceiling joists and boarding
  • Timber partitioning/ dry lining
  • 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
  • Fit bath panels and bath frames.
  • Fire prevention work- e.g. doors etc
  • UPVC repairs and replacement doors and windows
  • Priming new timber
  • Box in all pipework

A full range of building repairs, maintenance and installation work:  

  • Repairs to floor screeding and concrete floors
  • Applying self-level floor screed
  • Removing/ refitting or replacing threshold strips
  • Removal and installation of wall tiles and grouting
  • Bonding/ finishing and patch plastering
  • Decorating
  • Carry out mould wash treatment          

A full range of plumbing repairs, maintenance and installation work:

  • Bathroom suites and associated pipework
  • W/C and cisterns including pipework.
  • Kitchen plumbing requirements (sinks, washing, machines etc.)
  • Soil and surface water drainage systems
  • Renew waste pipes clear blockages
  • Remove redundant showers and pipework

Essential qualifications/experience

  • Driving licence
  • Multi Skill Experience
  • Trouble shooting skills
  • City & Guild Level 2/3 qualification within one of the main trades.

Occupational Health also works with us to resolve any issues in the workplace and also to ensure that well-being at work is maintained.
