The Role –

Support the processing of miscellaneous income due to the Council and maintaining the Debtors’ System including the dispatch of recovery notices and creating debtors on behalf of departments. Assisting with the collection of outstanding corporate debts.

Calculating and charging of rents for Council properties and assisting with the recharging of domestic service charges and dealing with members of the public relating to this.

Clearing of income suspense accounts. Assisting with the process of administering collection of monies by direct debit via the Debtors System.

About You -

Do you have basic knowledge of council procedures relating to sold council flats and commercial properties with associated legislation and have worked in a revenues or accountancy environment?

Do you have a working knowledge of software packages, and have experience of cashiering or banking, and possess excellent customer service skills?

Have you an understanding of Housing benefits, or associated agencies and are you able to use IT packages including Microsoft Word and Excel?
